Every year, a batch of grasshoppers come to the anthill and taste what the ants have gathered in quest of them. The "offering", as the ants cry the ritual, is a part of their lot. One day in spring, when the oblation's preparation has just been proficient, Flik, unliked inventor ant, accidentally drops the unbroken offered seeds into the river. The grasshoppers draw near and give the ants a back chance to collect food until water~. Flik sets off to find bugs that are volition to fight the grasshoppers (nobody expects him to succeed anyway) and, debt to a double misinterpretation, returns through a circus crew, giving everybody strange hope. When the misunderstanding finally gets cleared extinguished, there is only little time left because of a new plan, which has to be, or else...
